~Meaning of word "Thank You" in relationship~

Do you tell your wife that you appreciate her? Turns out, it may not actually matter. In the study, 50 couples who were together for an average of 20 years filled out a daily questionnaire. For two weeks, they reported when they said thanks, how grateful they felt, and how satisfied they were in the relationship. When one partner felt grateful, their spouse was likely to be happy in the relationship - even if they weren't actually saying the words “thank you”(Cameron Gordon, Ph.D; journal Personal and Individual Differences; University of North Carolina, Wilmington).

In fact, couples who have been together for a while may not even notice when thanks are given. When you feel grateful, you’re more likely to be in a better mood. You also treat your partner more positively by being forgiving, and in subtle ways like smiling. The study suggests that generally positive feelings are more important than actually saying “thanks” - at least for couples who have been together a long time(Cameron Gordon, Ph.D; journal Personal and Individual Differences; University of North Carolina, Wilmington).
