~The Benefit's of Good Laugh~

Not a fan of jokes? Become one. Recent studies show that indulging your sense of humor can help you live a longer, healthier life. Laughing not only eases stress, promotes social bonding, and lowers blood pressure, but it may also boost your immune system. Plus, humor becomes more important for people as they age, and it's associated with a more satisfying life(New Swiss Study).

Ninety percent of laughs involve deep exhalations. When you exhale, your heart rate and blood pressure go down and you enter a calmer state. This effect may very well be the reason you feel a sense of relief from laughing
(Dacher Keltner, Ph.D., a professor of psychology;University of California, Berkeley).

Partners who tell kind, lighthearted jokes and share laughter to defuse tension tend to have better marriages. It could be as easy as establishing a word or phrase that’s funny (and random) enough to automatically end any argument(John Gottman, Ph.D.,
Gottman Institute; a relationship counseling center in Seattle).

Just the anticipation of laughing decreases the stress hormones dopac, cortisol, and epinephrine by 38, 39, and 70 percent, respectively(Loma Linda University in California).
.
Not only does a chuckle release tension, it also keeps you healthy. People who laugh 10-25 times daily face fewer diseases than those who laugh outside that range(2009; International Journal of Medical Sciences).

~Insecure Man are Hot:First Date~

Clingy, worried, jealous, nervous - not the words most women would use to describe their ideal partner. But insecure men tend to do better on a first date. Researchers asked 156 students to complete a questionnaire that assessed how anxious and evasive they were in relationships. The participants then spent one-on-one time with an attractive person they were told was a potential date.

Insecure people came off as more interesting, they talked more, made more eye contact, they seemed nicer, they were funnier, and they said they use physical touch to convey romantic interest. Secure people, on the other hand, read as more distant and boring.

~Time vs Sex~

Waiting to sleep with a woman may be the ticket to a better sex life. New couples who avoided having sex - even by just one month - had better communication, higher relationship satisfaction, and more stability in their marriages than those who did the deed earlier in their relationships. And yes, they were even more satisfied sexually(Dean M. Busby, Ph.D; Brigham Young University).

When couples become sexual too early, the focus on pleasure often keeps them in relationships that might not be the best for them in the long-run(Dean M. Busby, Ph.D; Brigham Young University).

~Brain Structure vs Specific Job~

New research has found certain professions have specialized brain structures to help them with their jobs. UK researchers recently studied 11 fighter pilots and compared them to non-pilots with similar IQs. The scans showed differences in the structures in the right hemisphere of the brain, suggesting that the pilots have expertise in attention and cognition(co-author Ed Roberts, Ph.D; University of Cambridge).

In another study, brain scans of London taxi drivers revealed a higher amount of gray matter in the part of the brain associated with navigation and special memory, and researchers at the University of Reading have been conducting brain scans to determine if CEOs’ leadership and decision-making skills are because of brain biology(Researcher from University College London).

Could your future as CEO depend on an MRI? Let’s hope not. Even if some people have the right brain for the job, a brain scan wouldn’t consider their motivation and personalities. Plus, you might develop special brain abilities because of your job. There is research suggesting that structural changes occur in the brain throughout adulthood, meaning with the proper training we might all be able to learn these skills(co-author Ed Roberts, Ph.D; University of Cambridge).

How Facebook can make your life feel miserable?

Social networking sites can leave you with a skewed version of how happy your friends are - making your life seem depressing in comparison. Researchers showed people tend to broadcast good events and feelings, but hide negativity. When college students were asked how often they put experiences like crying and laughing on public sites, the researchers found that the participants broad casted good times but usually didn't post about negative emotions(Alexander Jordan, Ph.D; Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin; Stanford University).

The result: Social networking sites show you a constant flow of your friends’ happy photos and upbeat statuses, and so we tend to think our friends are happier than they are. That can lead us to believe that our lives are dull, sad, or boring in comparison(Alexander Jordan, Ph.D; Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin; Stanford University).

The solution is pretty simple, recognize that your friends hit rough patches, too, and that the things you see on social networking sites are edited versions of their lives(Alexander Jordan, Ph.D; Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin; Stanford University).

~Meaning of word "Thank You" in relationship~

Do you tell your wife that you appreciate her? Turns out, it may not actually matter. In the study, 50 couples who were together for an average of 20 years filled out a daily questionnaire. For two weeks, they reported when they said thanks, how grateful they felt, and how satisfied they were in the relationship. When one partner felt grateful, their spouse was likely to be happy in the relationship - even if they weren't actually saying the words “thank you”(Cameron Gordon, Ph.D; journal Personal and Individual Differences; University of North Carolina, Wilmington).

In fact, couples who have been together for a while may not even notice when thanks are given. When you feel grateful, you’re more likely to be in a better mood. You also treat your partner more positively by being forgiving, and in subtle ways like smiling. The study suggests that generally positive feelings are more important than actually saying “thanks” - at least for couples who have been together a long time(Cameron Gordon, Ph.D; journal Personal and Individual Differences; University of North Carolina, Wilmington).

Would You Leave Your Girlfriend if She Cheated?

Imagine if your girlfriend cheated on you with the attractive model in the photo on the top - what’s your reaction? Imagine her with the attractive female model. Any difference? Research shown, Men are a lot more likely to forgive a straying girlfriend if she’s cheated on him with another woman.

The scientists found that about 22 percent of men said that they’d probably stay with a girlfriend if she had an affair with another guy(Mark Cloud, Ph.D; Journal Personality and Individual Differences). Yet these men were twice as likely to stick around if she cheated with another woman. On the other hand, about 30 percent of women would dump their two-timing boyfriends.

Whether or not men realize it, they’re still concerned with spreading their genes. So if a woman has a cheating past and becomes pregnant later on, a man might be skeptical that he’s the father. Therefore, he might subconsciously want to break off the relationship before it goes any further. On the flip side, if his mate is cheating with another woman, there’s no threat to his genes(Mark Cloud, Ph.D; Journal Personality and Individual Differences).
